5. WATER DAMAGE EXCLUSION

Liquid and moisture damaged devices are inherently unpredictable.

Warranty does not cover future failures caused by prior liquid damage or corrosion.

5A. LIQUID DAMAGE REPAIRS

Devices previously exposed to liquid may continue to deteriorate over time.

The Customer acknowledges:

  • Corrosion may continue after repair;
  • Additional faults may emerge after repair;

Warranty for liquid damaged devices is limited solely to the specific component repaired by Cheap Geek.

6. MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM

To lodge a warranty claim:

  1. Contact Cheap Geek.
  2. Provide proof of purchase.
  3. Present the device for inspection.
  4. Allow our technicians to assess the device.

Warranty claims cannot be approved without inspection.

7. WARRANTY ASSESSMENT

Most warranty assessments are completed within one (1) to three (3) business days.

Additional time may be required where further testing or parts are necessary.

7A. ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

All warranty claims require physical inspection of the device.

The Customer must provide:

  • The device;
  • Proof of purchase;
  • Any accessories required for testing;
  • Passwords or access credentials where required for diagnostics.

Warranty claims cannot generally be assessed remotely.

Failure to provide equipment or information necessary for testing may result in the claim being declined.

7B. NO FAULT FOUND

Where assessment identifies:

  • No fault;
  • Customer misuse;
  • Accidental damage;
  • Unrelated faults;
  • Non-warranty issues;

Cheap Geek may charge a diagnostic fee for the assessment.

No refund shall be payable where no warrantable fault is identified.

8. WARRANTY REMEDIES

Where a valid warranty claim is approved, Cheap Geek may at its discretion:

  • Repair the defective component;
  • Replace the defective component;
  • Re-perform the service;
  • Replace the item with an equivalent item;
  • Provide a refund where required by law.

8A. WARRANTY REPAIR OPTIONS

The remedy selected by Cheap Geek shall satisfy its warranty obligations unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty claims do not entitle the Customer to a particular remedy.

8B. REPLACEMENT PARTS UNDER WARRANTY

Warranty replacement parts may be:

  • New;
  • Refurbished;
  • OEM;
  • Aftermarket;
  • Equivalent replacement components.

Replacement of a component under warranty does not restart or extend the original warranty period.

The original warranty period continues from the date of the initial repair.

8C. CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS EXCLUSION

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cheap Geek shall not be liable under this warranty for:

  • Loss of profits;
  • Loss of income;
  • Loss of business;

Where a device is used for commercial, professional or business purposes, the Customer remains responsible for:

  • Maintaining backups;
  • Business continuity planning;
  • Redundancy systems;
  • Alternative equipment arrangements.

Cheap Geek does not warrant uninterrupted operation of business systems following repair.
